this system is perfect if you would like monitor baby in room. But what you will be do if you have TWO babies which are sleeping in TWO different rooms ? You can NOT run TWO intercoms in transition mode in same time ! (they will be eliminate each other!). This amplified microphones design special to solve this problem. They are connected to intercom unit via mixer which else distribute power for intercom and microphones because it is very important two use SAME power source.
